Our mission is to bridge the gap between the demand for a comprehensive Arabic curriculum and the limited availability of such programs. We are committed to providing a conducive learning environment where part-time learners can thrive, expand their linguistic horizons, and deepen their understanding of the Arabic language. The part-time learning program is thoughtfully designed to provide an immersive education for those seeki

ng to understand the Arabic language while balancing other commitments. Students without any requisite knowledge can enroll in this curriculum. Throughout the one-year program, students grow to understand Arabic syntax, morphology, and grammar, while delving deep into Quranic comprehension, Hadith understanding, Tajweed, and the spiritual wisdom found in the teachings of Rasulullah ﷺ

Program Overview

The goal of this program is to equip students with the linguistic, spiritual, and religious knowledge necessary to engage with Islamic texts and teachings with confidence and depth. The first year of the part-time Arabic Program is a comprehensive curriculum consisting of six courses. While the core curriculum comprises four courses, students have the option to enroll in these separately if desired. Further program details can be found in the Program Catalog.

Arabic Grammar (Nahw)

Text Used: Seek ilm Arabic Grammar/Morphology PPT & Notes, Tasheel al-Nahw based on ‘ilm al-Nahw

Embark on a linguistic journey with our Arabic Grammar (Nahw) course. Designed as a natural progression from Arabic Morphology, this course delves into the intricacies of Arabic sentence structures using the esteemed text "Tasheel al-Nahw". Explore the various classifications of sentences and gain a deep understanding of sentence components. Unravel the nuances of the Arabic case system, discovering how nouns interact with prepositions and verbs according to their roles within sentences. By the end of this course, students will possess the skills to adeptly construct and analyze Arabic sentences, along with a comprehensive grasp of noun properties, empowering them with a solid foundation in Arabic grammar.

Arabic Morphology (Sarf)

Tajweed: The Art of Quran Recitation

In this transformative Tajweed course, students delve into the art of Quranic recitation with a threefold focus. First, they gain a profound understanding of the Rules of Tajweed, ensuring the pristine and melodious rendering of Quranic verses. Second, under the tutelage of Hafidh Abur-Rahman, a master teacher renowned for his expertise in all seven Quranic recitations (Qira'at), students experience a specialized curriculum meticulously designed for both novice readers and seasoned Huffaaz. This curriculum places a strong emphasis on comprehensive learning. Third, the course is thoughtfully tailored to accommodate individuals of all proficiency levels in Quranic recitation, providing an inclusive environment for learners at every stage of their Quranic journey.

Hadith Comprehension: Level 1

Text Used: Seek ilm's 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi, Zaad ut-Taalibeen

In this introductory course, students embark on a foundational journey aimed at deepening their comprehension of Islamic texts. The primary objective is to apply fundamental concepts acquired in morphology and syntax classes to the study of Hadith. Class discussions revolve around exploring Arabic grammar and vocabulary, while also providing valuable insights into the meanings and contexts of the Hadith. This course empowers students to engage with the original language of these sacred texts, enhancing their ability to interpret and analyze them with proficiency.

Quran Comprehension: Level 1

Text Used: Seek ilm Quranic Tafsir Lecture Notes, Qasas an-Nabiyin

The purpose of this course is to enable students to apply grammatical concepts learned in Nahw and expand their vocabulary by interpreting verses from the Quran. The course is guided by the Seek ilm Quranic Tafsir Lecture Notes and the timeless wisdom of "Qasas an-Nabiyin." LOCAL ENGAGEMENT

Students residing in Lake Ridge, Virginia, Snellville, Georgia, and Louisville, Kentucky, will have a unique opportunity to attend live classes at their respective local masjids: Madinatul Uloom in Lake Ridge, VA, Darul Huda Masjid in Snellville, GA, and HIRA Institute in Louisville, KY. These classes provide an interactive learning environment, promoting engagement with both peers and experienced instructors. While one class will be conducted in Georgia, another in Texas, and a third in Kentucky, the Virginia location will host the remaining three sessions. To ensure accessibility, all six classes will be simulcast online, making these valuable sessions available to a broader audience.
